One Purpose Senior Living
Founded with one purpose.
Two licensed administrators who had spent their careers inside senior living buildings decided the only way to fix what frustrated them was to own the buildings themselves.
How OPS started.
Sherri Berghoff had opened nine communities as a VP of Operations and led sales organizations to $42M in annual revenue. Angela Otis had spent her career as a licensed administrator, becoming one of Indiana's foremost experts on the state'sMedicaid Waiver. Both had watched good buildings get run by spreadsheets from far away.
They founded OPS Living around one mission: removing the daily burdens of caregiving and helping adult children return to their roles as loving sons or daughters.

What we do differently.
OPS takes on underperforming communities (including former Brookdale buildings in South Bend and Bloomington) and rebuilds them from the staffing up. That means measurable outcomes, real accountability for executive directors, and a hiring standard aimed at people who will still be here in three years.
It shows up in the employee data: OPS is Great Place to Work Certified for 2025 and 2026, with 76% of employees saying this is a great place to work against a 57% U.S. average. Staff who stay are the whole product in this business.

One Purpose Senior Adventures
The nonprofit side of One Purpose.
One Purpose Senior Adventures is a 501(c)(3) that grants bucket-list wishes to low-income seniors in assisted living and skilled nursing communities. Sherri Berghoff is president, Angela Otis vice president, and Raven Johnson secretary. It runs on the same idea as everything else we do: the person comes first.
