A day at JUDAY CREEK

Coffee is on before breakfast, and the front lounge fills up early. Residents read the South Bend Tribune, catch up on grandkids, and head to breakfast when they're ready, not when a bell rings.

Afternoons run on the activity calendar: chair yoga, cards, a visiting music group, or a bus outing toward Granger. Care staff work the floor the whole time, so help is never a phone call away.

Dinner is chef-prepared and served in the dining room, with second helpings encouraged. Evenings are quiet: a movie in the lounge, a walk down the hall with a caregiver, lights out on your own schedule.

We don't offer memory care at Juday Creek. If your family needs it, our sister community Trail Creek Place in Michigan City does, and we'll help you figure out the right fit either way.

We're on South Bend Avenue, minutes from Granger, the University Park area and Beacon Granger Hospital. Families driving in from Mishawaka or the toll road are usually here in under fifteen minutes, and Notre Dame is a short drive south.

Get directions →Assisted living at Commons at Juday Creek starts at $3,900 a month. That rate includes your apartment, all utilities except phone, three chef-prepared meals a day, housekeeping and laundry, the full activity calendar, 24/7 onsite care staff, and medication management. Higher levels of personal care are priced on top of the base rate after a nurse assessment, and we tell you that number before you move in.
Yes. Many families assume assisted living is private-pay only, and it often isn't. Our co-owner Angela Otis is a licensed administrator who specializes in Indiana's Medicaid Waiver, and our team will walk you through eligibility at no cost, before you commit to anything.
Yes, small pets are welcome as long as your family member can care for the animal with reasonable help. Talk to the executive director about your specific pet and we'll be straight with you about whether it will work.
There aren't any. Family can visit whenever they like, join a parent for dinner, and take them out for the afternoon. We only ask that you sign in at the front desk so we know who is in the building.
Tour, then a nurse assessment to determine care needs and the exact monthly rate, then paperwork and a move-in date. Most families go from first tour to move-in in one to two weeks, and we can move faster when a hospital discharge requires it.
Yes. This community was formerly Brookdale South Bend. It's now owned and operated by OPS Living, an Indiana company run by licensed administrators, and families tell us the difference shows.
