A day at GRAND EMERALD

Early risers claim the sunroom with coffee while the kitchen gets breakfast going. Caregivers help with dressing and morning medications at each resident's own pace.

There's something on the calendar every afternoon: bingo, a devotional, live music, or a ride out toward Ireland Road. Families drop in constantly, and that's the point.

Dinner is served family-style in the dining room, then the building settles: cards, a ballgame on the lounge TV, and a caregiver checking in through the night.

We don't offer memory care at Grand Emerald. If your family needs it, our sister community Trail Creek Place in Michigan City does, and we'll help you figure out the right fit either way.

Whatever the rate, it includes the apartment, utilities, three meals a day, housekeeping and laundry, activities, 24/7 care staff and medication management.
Yes. Our co-owner Angela Otis is one of Indiana's foremost Medicaid Waiver experts, and our team will help you find out if your family qualifies for free. Many families who assumed assisted living was out of reach find out otherwise.
Small pets are welcome when the resident can care for them with reasonable help from family and staff. Bring your questions to the tour and we'll give you a straight answer.
Open. Come for lunch, come on a Sunday morning, take your mother out for the day. We just ask that you sign in so we know who is in the building.
A tour, a nurse assessment that sets the exact monthly rate, paperwork, and a move-in date. Most families complete the whole process in one to two weeks, faster if there's a hospital discharge on the clock.
It's owner-operated. The people who own OPS Living are licensed administrators who spent decades inside buildings like this one, and they're in this building regularly. That changes how a community runs.
